FAQ's
Q: Will I be able to actually save someone's life with what I learn?
A: Yes you can as a common cause of cardiac arrest is a condition called ‘ventricular fibrillation’, where instead of pumping blood in a normal way, the heart's ventricular muscles simply quiver – or ‘fibrillate’.
Treatment with a defibrillator can often reverse this condition before it leads to cardiac arrest, if applied quickly enough. A defibrillator administers an electric shock, depolarizing the heart's electrical conduction system. When it re-polarizes, the normal electrical conduction system may start to work again, and the heart can resume pumping blood normally.
